Kota Kinabalu: Dinner at Little Italy

Continue from Island Hoping post

We met up with our senior, who is working in Queen Elizabeth hospital, for dinner at an Italian Restaurant. I heard about this restaurant from lots of friends before I fly to Kota Kinabalu (KK). Friends told me they serve pretty good Italian food and hence I'm really looking forward to try it.

How's my experience here? Look at the photos and read the caption. =D

The menu of the restaurant. They have a variety of food. Appetizers, Salads, Bread, Pizzas, different type of Pizzas, Desserts. Their menu is available on the website - Little Italy.

The restaurant was packed when we arrived. Luckily our senior helped us to make reservation the day before. So we got a table for 11. =) The environment is good and the waiter/waitress are all very cheerful.

Spotted a cute "little italy" shirt on the window. Cute!

Plenty of choices of pastas. They have gnocchi, ravioli, fettuccine, penne, spaghetti, rigatoni, etc etc...
I'm interested with ravioli - filled pasta. Here, they have ravioli with mushroom, spinach & ricotta cheese, or beef/chicken. After you choose your pasta, you choose the sauce.
If it is really hard for you to choose, they have some suggested combinations too! So caring.

(Friend's) Spaghetti carbonara.

(Friend's) Spaghetti al Nero di Seppia - Spaghetti with black squid ink.

(Friend's) Risotto Marinara Verde. Very huge portion!

(Friend's) Ravioli with chicken in bolognese sauce.

(Mine) Ravioli with spinach and cheese + salmone sause (cream-based). Bad choice of combination of the day. The whole pasta is too cheesy and creamy. It's delicious but a bit too filling. Haha..

We also ordered 2 pizzas to share. One of them is as shown in picture - al Salmone Affumicato. Another one was Pollo & Funghi (Pizza with Mushrooms and chicken morsels). As a salmon fans, I prefer al Salmone Affumicato although it is a little saltier than the other one. XD

Our bill was about RM300++. I think it is pretty reasonable and rather cheap for an Italian restaurant. Would want to try the risotto of other sauce next time, and maybe some dessert.

This restaurant is located at Ground Floor, Hotel Capital, Jalan Haji Saman, Kota Kinabalu. Pretty near Gaya Street. You won't miss it. =)
