Macau Day Trip Part 2

As mentioned in previous post, I went to Macau for day trip during my 9-days Hong Kong Trip. After visiting St Domingo's Church and Ruins of St Paul, we tried some local cuisine - portuguese egg tarts (葡挞) and pork chop bun (猪扒包).

We went to try Portuguese Egg Tarts at Cafe e Nata Margaret's in the evening and the queue was shocking. We queued for about 30-45 minutes. The egg tarts sold out real fast and it was really hard to get a seat to dine in. My friend and I ordered half dozen of egg tarts and finished all within 20 minutes. Slurps... It was good, not too sweet, the ratio of biscuits and eggs was just nice. @_@ Awwww...... I'm missing the tarts now.

The logo of the shop

Me and the egg tart. Looks nice isn't it? Both people and food. XD

We tried pork chop bun too but it doesn't really up to my expectation. So I decided not to recommend it here. =)

After trying egg tarts, we went to hunt for the recommended biscuit shop. We found out in the macau guide that it will be closing at 7pm so we walked kinda fast to search for it. Luckily we found the shop and bought my souvenirs! Mission accomplished!

Here's some photos to show you how the shop looks like. It does not looks like those fancy biscuits shop near Ruins of St Paul. It looks so traditional and I feel more confident with their biscuits. Bought some almond cookies and egg rolls from them, and they tasted really good. Fresh and delicious. Recommend to all my readers to try this shop -- Pastelaria Chui Heong (最香饼家)

So traditional! Look at the bottles!

Even Louis Koo was here before for a movie! Oh, and look at the freshly baked almond cookies!

After buying biscuits, I went to visit Macau casinos. First one was Casino Lisboa (new), followed by Casino Lisboa (old) and Casino Gold Sand. The casinos in Macau are really grand and cool. They are bigger than those that I've visited previously (Casino in Melbourne and Genting Highlands). Even the decorations in casinos can be tourist attraction. I overheard a tour guide telling his group that they can snap some photos in the casino and leave after that. Being an adventurous tourist, I was thinking what is so special in the casino lobby and went in to take a look. Hmmmm..... I'm amazed. Look at the photos below and you will know what I mean. =)

Entrance of the casino. I like the colourful lights. =D

Super grand stairs! That's where the princess walk down for their ball. Ooopsss! Sorry for day-dreaming.

Last but not least, cinderella-like christmas decoration in the casino.

We tried our luck gambling and I lost. Friend is smart and lucky. She won back some bucks and our turbojet ticket fare. I'm so glad to have her as my guide (指路明灯). I learnt how to gamble and how to be a tourist with sense of direction. Oh, I miss her already. And so we ended our macau day trip by taking turbojet back Hong Kong around 11pm.
