Thailand 8D7N Trip: Day 7 & 8 Mall Hopping; Chinatown; Chatuchak Weekend Market

Day 7: Breakfast near Platinum Mall --> Big C --> Siam Paragon --> Siam Square -> MBK Shopping Centre --> Chinatown

Second last day of our 8D7N trip in Thailand. We decided to go mall hopping in the morning and check out Chinatown at night.

First thing to do: Feed our stomach! We went to hunt food at the street opposite Platinum Mall, again. This time, we found a small local stall that sells wan ton noodle soup and chicken/roasted pork/roasted duck rice.

Platinum Mall (le heaven)
So this is how my breakfast looks like. I ordered a bowl of Wan Ton Noodle with soup and they served with quite a number of Char Siew (pork) (THB40). I find it quite OK.

After that, we started our journey to explore malls that are nearby. We first stopped at Big C Supermarket (Right opposite Central World) as the weather was really hot and all of us were sweating. And we did some shopping there to get junk food. The price at Big C is cheaper than elsewhere. A good place to buy stuff to bring home, especially junk food. Another place to buy cheap junk food would be a stall at 7th floor of Platinum Mall. Their Pocky is relatively cheaper than other places.

After that, we walked from Centrtal World to Siam Paragon, which was about a 10 minutes walk.Walking under hot sun is really a big challenge. We just did some window shopping at Siam Paragon and went to Siam Square.

Group photo in front of Siam Paragon =D

At Siam Square, I found my beloved kitty cafe! Awww..... Unluckily, I was running out of cash and decided not to try it out. What a waste! I would definitely come back for this as it looks very promising and larger than the one I've visited in Taipei.

Till we meet again.... >.<

Then, we had lunch at A&W. Fast food restaurant again!
Bacon Burger + Fries + Rootbeer.
This is not available in Malaysia though. Something special at least.

After lunch, we continued to hop to MBK shopping centre as our last stop. We did our shopping along the way. MBK shopping centre isn't that nice to shop. It looks more local and older than other malls. However, I still get to do some shopping. Got my neck pillow here from a Korean Shop. XD

We were all very exhausted walking everywhere under hot weather. So we decided to head back to hotel with cab. NO MORE WALKING, they said. Haha.... However, girls decided not to rest in hotel until dinner time. We went out to the Pratunam market to continue our shopping journey. Pratunam market is huge and there are plenty of stalls! However, it is open air and I find it uncomfortable to shop in there. Ended up, we spare another hour time in Platinum Mall before going to dinner at Chinatown.

Finally, we are done with shopping and going for dinner! The guys should be relieved that we had done our shopping. XD We headed out to Chinatown for shopping. We wanted to try and find out how to take local bus to Chinatown. The hotel reception thought us how to take bus but due to time limitation, we ended up trying Tuk Tuk instead.

Bought ourselves a stick of BBQ pork as snack along our way to hunt for a Tuk Tuk.
THB10 per stick, it's good!

Selfie while we are on our way to Chinatown. Jammed in the middle of the road for 10 minutes. Oh god! I hate Bangkok traffic!

After about 20 minutes, we arrived at Chinatown. We were really hungry that time. Hence we started to hunt for a decent looking restaurant. Ended up, we decided to try out a crowded seafood restaurant.

It is called T&K Seafood. It is so crowded but luckily we got ourselves a table for 6.

While waiting for our food, we tried out the chinese fritters (you tiao 油条) with pandan coconut sauce. This chinese fritter is cute! Shorter and less guilty after eating. XD

Grilled prawns. It is so good and fresh!

Fried bean sprouts

Crab with glass noodles. This is rather special and quite good!

Tom yum goong! Looks oily, but it is nice. =)

Fried omelette with oysters. Look at the numbers of oysters in one omelette! Wow...

Here's the place we had dinner. Feeling so local. We were being seated at 3rd floor, chiller place. Guess what, our bill is about THB1150 for 6 persons. SOOOOO WORTHY!!

After dinner, we went back to hotel to enjoy some beers and chit chat session. It's last night of the trip!!!

The number of bottles in 4 nights. Mild drinker, aren't we? XD

Day 8: Chatuchak Weekend Market --> Lunch at Hotel Lobby --> Flight back to Kuala Lumpur (KL)

Chatuchak Weekend Market is a must visit market for every tourist who love shopping. Here's the opening hours of Chatuchak Weekend Market:
Fri (Wholesale Day): 6am-6pm
Sat-Sun (Miscellaneous): 6am-6pm

We went there early in the morning but the guys decided to rest in the hotel. It is a shopping heaven for women! It is as nice to shop as Platinum mall. Too bad I went there on my last day, which my money has depleted. Window shopping is nice too!

Coconut ice cream at Chatuchak weekend market!
This is the worst coconut ice cream I've ever had throughout my Thailand trip. But it is the most photogenic one. Ah! Life is unfair.

Another BBQ Pork Stick

We were hunting for breakfast and finally we found a stall that attracts us. Yong Tau Foo with noodles at a random shop.
The noodles taste like boat noodle and the yong tau foo (fish paste with fishballs). I love this! Maybe I'm bored with tom yum and pad thai already. Haha...

Morning Caffeine Dose

After breakfast, we walked around the market and enjoyed the last hours of shopping in Chatuchak. Then, we headed back to hotel to meet up with the guys and check out. After a quick packing session, we checked out from the hotel and then waited for our airport cab at the cafe.

Last meal in Thailand! Pad Thai and Lime Juice at the cafe beside the hotel.

I'll definitely miss this Thailand Trip! It is so awesome to be able to explore new places with a bunch of fun friends.
